Overview of course

The online cohort course brings the Endineering theme in to an easily digestible format, for people looking to learn in their own time and at their own pace.

It is a packed syllabus of content – videos, diagrams, processes, tools, quizzes, examples and case studies. With many chapters from both the Ends (2017) and the Endineering books (2021).
This is one of the most comprehensive courses Joe Macleod has done to date.

It is for people and teams who want to…

  • learn independently

  • at their own pace

  • at a convenient time

  • focus in on the content they want the most urgent access to

  • it is backed up by weekly check-ins to practice techniques and discuss themes

Time commitment
The course is delivered over 4 weeks. With content being released every week to the students. Students can complete the course within 1 - 2hrs a week of study.

”Very reasonable time commitment with access to an expert (1h online + 1h debrief per week)”

Graduates love it
The Endineering course is being improved constantly. Graduates are loving it. Feedback from the course, with the latest satisfaction survey, giving an exceptional NPS of 63.

For Individuals

This is the most comprehensive Endineering course to date. It has been built for an international audience, who need flexibility in their learning schedule, but who don’t want to compromise on the content.

  • Four week program

  • New weekly video lectures, diagram, articles and chapters, quizzes, and learning tasks

  • All on a convenient online platform

  • Friendly and active community

Community of Endineers
Alongside the learning content we have weekly live discussions on Zoom about the themes that came up in the course. This has two scheduled slots on that day, so wherever you dial in from across the world it can work in your schedule. Previous Endineering graduates have come from Australia, Malaysia, Indonesia, Taiwan, China, Mauritius, Germany, Sweden, Spain, UK, and across the USA.

There is also an active community of Endineers from previous courses on the Endineering Slack channel. Here we share thoughts, articles and discuss issues around the theme of consumerism and endings.

What people say about the cohort course.

It was such an revelation. I couldn’t stop thinking about how everything ends, and how a better ending should be. Thank you for the continuous support and wisdom Joe Macleod!

If you work in sustainability, the perspective taught in Endineering will be an eye-opener.

I’ve deep-dived into this often-overlooked perspective of endings lately in Joe Macleod's brilliant course Endineering. Sustainable consumption can’t happen without companies assuming responsibility for the end of the consumer lifecycle and designing conscious and actionable ends for consumers. Poor or inexistent off-boarding leads to inaction, holds back engagement, makes us neglect waste, and avoid responsibility.

Yeah! Yesterday was graduation day. I am now a certified #Endineer. Thanks to Joe Macleod who poured all his knowledge and dedication into creating this course. Highly recommended for everybody, no matter what your job title is.

I can highly recommend this course to anyone that is in #packagedesign, #servicedesign, and #experiencedesign. It will definitely open your mind up to the full life of any product or service offering.

Did you have an old iPhone that slowed down and its battery didn’t last until lunchtime?

It’s probably because Apple didn’t have an Endineer in their team. Yes, Endineer, not Engineer. Haven’t heard of Endineering before? It’s all about starting with the END in mind.

A crucial, but often forgotten, part of the #circulareconomy.

This is a root cause of why we have so much #waste, and it’s the problem Endineering aims to tackle to further prevent #climatechange.

For Businesses

I offer private Endineering cohorts for businesses that need more flexibility in their training.

Below are some of the benefits of that.

Flexible schedule
The course can be run at a time that suits your team and your business schedule. For example, run it over 1 week, with daily check-ins. Alternatively, stretch it out over 2 months, with bi-weekly check-ins.

Adaptable for team size and location
The course can be adapted for small teams (3-4), or big departments (over 100) located around the world.

Onward development
Some business I work with choose to get more specific after the introductory training or the cohort course. For example a single workshop around a specific issue or a numbers of events, embedded alongside a wider project program of developing product endings.

Security around product development
Sometimes it isn’t possible to speak freely with your co-workers in a public meeting or training program. Having a private course for your team can help keep secuirty tight and conversation free.

Budgets
Some businesses like to make the course part of a project budget, others prefer to place it in annual training budget, linked to an individual. I can make this as flexible as possible for your budgets and accounting.
