Textiles, traditional skills, fashion and the future.

Anders Andersen

Anders will talk about a new look at the old tools of the trade.

He argues that true change is born from a feeling of resourcefulness.
A resourcefulness that helps us integrate the end. Through his unique lens, we’ll explore how practical textile skills aren’t just about making "stuff"—they are the essential tools we need to navigate, contemplate, and survive the shifting landscape of global production.

I am an educator and designer specialising in sustainable fashion, textile practice, and design methodologies.

My work explores how practical textile knowledge can contribute to more responsible forms of production and consumption. With close to thirty years of experience across education, commercial design, and high-end fashion, I currently teach at University College Copenhagen.

I am one of the driving forces in the development of a National Centre for Responsible Textile Craft, a practice-based environment for preserving and developing responsible textile methods and knowledge. I am also involved in the development of a new professional bachelor programme in textile design and craft, focusing on how practical skills and material knowledge can drive change and help create more responsible solutions.
